Adding Administrator Account to Vista
By Default Administrator Account is disabled in Vista...Here is how to enable it..
1)Right Click on My Computer>click on manage
then a window will appear with two panes...On the left pane you see computer management and all...
2)Click on Local Users and Groups now on right hand side you see 2 options -users and groups
click on Users
3)A list of Users will appear double-click Administrator
4)Then uncheck account is disabled option and if the option user cannot change password is enabled then disable it
5)Now your Administrator Account is enabled...Logout or Restart if u want....You'll see the option of Administrator
6)Same way u can add guest account too.
Disabling Autoconnect
1)For Dial-up users (including those with PPPOE) there is an irritating feature in vista called autoconnect which starts the connection whenever we open a web based application
2)To disable it go to start then All Programs then Accessories then Run and type "regedit" without the quotes and you'll enter a menu....
3)On the left pane expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER by clicking on the plus sign besides it
4)HKEY_CURRENT_USER >Remote Access>Profile>connectionxyz
5)On the Right hand side pane set the value of autoconnect to zero by double clicking it and entering the value
(from now on i wont be describing how to enter the regedit menu)
Changing Home folder and Local Path
1)If you want to change the path of the homedrive and other things like local path goto regedit
2)Then expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER then click on Volatile Environment and you'll see a host of options on RHS..You can change whatever you want including the Appdata path
Disabling Beeps
1)So,if your sondcard isnt configured yet but want to get rid of those irritating beeps then here's the tweak
2)Goto Regedit expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Control PAnel>Sounds
3)On RHS double click on Beep and change the value from Yes to NO
Disabling Autodisconnect
1)Vista uses a feature called autodisconnect..that is it disconnects after a particular task is over...This may ruin your ongoing downloads
2)GOTO Regedit expand Remote Access>Profile>Connectionxyz
3)on right hand side you'll see

4)To enable any of the above values double click and set the value to 1 and to disable set the value to zero
